About us

The South Cork Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) – a Committee of Cork County Council – was confirmed as the LEADER Local Action Group (LAG) for South Cork and the programme officially commenced on the 1st December 2016. The new group – branded “LEADER South Cork” – managed the allocation of €3.8 million in LEADER funding across South Cork for the period 2014-2020.

The programme was being rolled out by the South Cork LAG, Avondhu Blackwater Partnership CLG and SECAD local development companies operating in the South Cork Council division.

South Cork LEADER LAG plays a crucial role in fostering vibrant rural areas by supporting economic development, community cohesion, environmental sustainability, and tourism. By empowering local communities and encouraging sustainable practices, the LAG helps ensure that South Cork remains a dynamic and prosperous region.
